This Advice has been updated to reflect additional restrictions that were announced for Greater Sydney at the media conference on 17 July 2021. The Public Health Orders issued overnight, provide more clarity around the restrictions and related exemptions.

The most significant direct impact on business is created by the restriction of the operation of some retail premises and the pausing of construction work, including non-urgent maintenance in residential premises.

There have not been any direct restrictions placed on other workplaces, such as manufacturing and logistics. However, these workplaces may be impacted by the restrictions on carpooling (across the whole of Greater Sydney) and/or the restrictions placed on people living in the three local government areas (LGAs) of Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown and Liverpool.
